I met up with this sweet couple at Bellingham Park in Mooresville. This park held a lot of memories for them, as they often met there while dating and this was also where Larry proposed.

Larry, who is a Baptist preacher, cracked me up!  Whenever I would ask him to kiss Tiffany, he would respond with an enthusiastic, "Hallelujah!"

This is a close-up of their Claddagh engagement rings, worn on their left hands with the heart facing outward, indicating they are engaged.  When they are married, they will wear the rings with the heart facing inward.

Tiffany and Larry have their wedding date set for May and I'm so excited to take pictures of their wedding!

It was so much fun taking Ashley's maternity pictures at the beach!  We started off at the dock by the house...

then quickly walked to the beach, where the sun was starting to set, making beautiful pink reflections on the water...

We made a mad dash back to the dock, where we captured my favorite - a beautiful silhouette.

My friend Ashley's sweet little pumpkin is due in October, so we headed out to the barnyard on a sweltering hot September day and pretended it was a nice, crisp Fall day.

Ashley has been my model for years, being both beautiful and my BFF.  Now that she's expecting, she is still the perfect model with her cute little belly.  One of our biggest challenges during this photo shoot was making sure her bump was clearly showing!

Her husband, Matt was a very patient man as we waited for the perfect light.

And, also while we tried ridiculous things with pumpkins...

I can't wait to share Part II from our beach trip!

As a former homeschool mom, I know how difficult it can be to get yearly back-to-school pictures of our kids.  It's easy to whip out our phone to snap a shot for FaceBook or Instagram, but finding the time to actually get a good, close-up portrait that shows how our kids have grown from year to year doesn't always take priority.  I'd like to help you with that.

I recently had the privilege of photographing a family for the second time.  This sweet boy fell asleep on the way to our meeting place and we were afraid we weren't going to be able to get any good pictures of him...this one turned out to be my favorite of the whole session!

Wow, I can't believe I didn't post at all in October!  Well, these pictures are from Halloween, so that counts, doesn't it?

We had so much fun with this photo shoot!  The girls wanted to be characters from Alice in Wonderland for Halloween.  Once they started planning their outfits, they decided to get their friends in on it too.  Katie's friend, Grace, made the best Alice...

and set up the Mad Hatter's (a.k.a. Kinsey) tea party in the woods...

I've had so much fun doing these themed shoots the last couple of years (see Little Red Riding Hood from last year), that I think I'm going to advertise early for next Halloween so people can plan their costumes.  Let me know if you'd like to see your child in a fairy tale!

 

Caroline's Maternity Session

My friend, Caroline, is expecting her third precious little one and I had the opportunity to do a maternity session with her this afternoon.

We met at Jetton Park, which ended up being the perfect location for this shoot.

The light coming through the leaves of the trees was absolutely beautiful.

It was also the perfect time of day to get a silhouette of the baby bump!
